Hi, I’m Kumiko!

I was born and raised in Japan where I was a dog groomer with over 10 years of experience. I specialize in the ‘fuwa-fuwa’ cutting style which translates to a fluffy teddy bear look on dogs. My focus is on the use of hand scissors as my main cutting techniques. I’m used to being around and caring for animals since I was a little girl as my family had two veterinarians in the profession. I have experience grooming paraplegic and spinally injured dogs and while I was inspired by my family member’s veterinarian work and vaguely entertained the idea of becoming one, for me I realized there were more ways to care for these fur babies by partaking in the creative side and enjoying the artistic design of grooming their coats. There’s an emotional satisfaction that’s experienced when watching an owner’s reaction to our work! It’s a feeling that I would love to share with you and your fur babies!
